Tamar Braxton Signs to Pantheon Talent Agency
Tamar Braxton is looking to spread her wings. Via published reports, The Braxton Family Values star recently agreed to be repped by Pantheon, a talent agency that has divisions in theatrical, literary, commercial and print advertising. After being unceremoniously dropped as co-host of The Real last year, Tamar recently spoke to Billboard about diversifying her brand as an artist. In addition to debuting her own talk show this year, Tamar says she’s also planning on writing a book, expanding her clothing line and branching out into acting like big sister Toni.
“I’ve always wanted to act and have slowly been testing the waters by taking classes,” Tamar told the magazine. “Toni has really inspired me to just go for it and who knows, maybe one day we can even work on a project together.” Tamar’s previous acting credits include a one-episode stint on The Soul Man back in 2012. She and sister Trina performed as the gospel singing duo The Pickney Sisters.
As for the book and talk show, Tamar says she’s still working on both, but noted the talk show would likely proceed the book. As previously reported, Tamar will be keeping it real with Steve Harvey, who signed her to his production company within days of her departure from The Real.
Fans hoping Tamar won’t forget about the music will be happy to hear she’s back in the studio. Via a recent post on Instagram, Tamar said her new album will be “hot like perm left on your head too long.” Her previous album, 2015’s Calling all Lovers, was a somewhat commercial disappointment, selling less than 300,000 copies to date. Despite that, Tamar says she’s grateful for the continued support of her fans and that she won’t let them down.
