Season two of The Real kicked off today with a performance by singer and show co-host Tamar Braxton. Tamar sang her new single King, which is featured on her upcoming fourth solo album Calling all Lovers.
When a fan inquired on Twitter why Tamar didn’t sing her official new single Catfish, the singer responded, saying “I couldn’t see myself twerking to #Catfish on That show!”
Tamar’s Calling all Lovers album was recently pushed back and will now go on sale October 2. The delay came as a surprise to the singer, who took to Instagram to tell her fans she found out via media the same way they did. Tamar then took accountability for the delay, saying she was standing in her own way and unwittingly blocking her blessings.
“I went against everything I preached and believed ‘never let anyone stop you,’” Tamar wrote. “I lost hope in something that is so personal, so real and that I needed to say. Without thinking about my purpose, I let fear anger get in my way.”
Tamar went on to say she was back on track and hoped fans would ride out the storm with her. Calling all Lovers is available for pre-order now and will have several singles used via her stint on this season’s Dancing with the Stars.
