Terri J. Vaughn & YaYa DaCosta Score New Roles

Actress Terri J. Vaughn (The Steve Harvey Show) and YaYa DaCosta (America’s Next Top Model) have both landed roles in upcoming big and small screen productions.

Vaughn will be bringing her talents to BET in their half-hour comedy “Young Man on Campus.” The 42-year old California native will play the mother of a braniac 15-year old who enters college early.

Terri described her character Trishelle as “an earthy mama bear who truly wants her son (Jacob) to have every advantage in life that she didn’t. She gets a second job driving the campus bus at a private school to get an employee discount on her children’s tuition, and while Jacob got in on a scholarship, she keeps the job to keep an eye on him.”

“Young Man on Campus” will air in early 2013.

As for YaYa, she will next appear in Neil’s Drumming’s debut film “Big Words.” Specifics are still up in the air, but the overall theme of the film revolves around a group of Brooklyn friends and how their lives changed on the day Barack Obama was elected president.

The film is presently listed in pre-production and is expected to be released independently.
