Teyana Taylor to Star in ‘Honey 4’
The fourth installment of the Honey movie franchise has officially received the greenlight from Universal Pictures. Via press release, the studio says they plan to celebrate the film’s 15th anniversary with an all new production starring Teyana Taylor, Sierra McClain (Daddy’s Little Girls) and Empire’s Bryshere Gray.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the return of this groundbreaking series with an all new cast featuring some of today’s most talented and sought-after young stars,” said Glen Ross, General Manager and Executive Vice President of Universal 1440 Entertainment. “Longtime fans and newcomers alike will be thrilled by the return of the franchise’s signature blend of music, dance, romance and ambition.”
Honey 4 went into production earlier this month and will be helmed by longtime director Billie Woodruff. Set in Atlanta’s underground dance scene, the film will reportedly feature original music from both Taylor and Bryshere.
Previous versions of Honey, which is loosely based on the life of choreographer Laurieann Gibson, starred Jessica Alba, Katerina Graham (Honey 2) and Cassie Ventura (Honey 3: Dare to Dance).
