Teyonah Parris to Spice Things Up on ‘Empire’
Actress Teyonah Parris is joining the season four cast of the hit Fox series Empire. According to the Hollywood Reporter, she’ll play Pamela Rose, an ambitious New York City police detective who quickly blurs the line between personal and professional when she encounters the beguiling men of the Lyon family.
Parris’ multi-episodic arc is expected to kick off early on and wrap up before the mid-season finale. Unlike previous seasons, Fox has decided to scale back on storylines surrounding guest stars and supporting characters for the new season. Opting instead to re-focus on the Lyon family and Cookie’s time spent incarcerated.
As for Teyonah, her short tenure on the show’s new season probably has a little to do with her own busy schedule as well. She’s currently starring in the Starz comedy Survivor’s Remorse, and is reportedly in talks to co-star in the film adaptation of the James Baldwin novel If Beale Street Could Talk.
