Nicki Minaj’s reign over the music charts shows no signs of letting up. The rapper’s debut album “Pink Friday” is holding steady inside the top ten, selling another 98,000 copies, which is a 22% increase from last week. Nick will hold the #7 spot on the albums chart, while Kanye West, who bested Nicki for the #1 spot three weeks ago, sees his album drop from #13 to #25.
Other big chart news this week involves Kanye’s nemesis, singer Taylor Swift. The country-pop sensation saw her “Speak Now” album increase in sales by 27%, which was good enough to best both Susan Boyle (#2 The Gift) and Michael Jackson (#3 Michael).
Sadly, Ciara’s “Basic Instinct” album will debut at #43 with sales of just over 37,000. R. Kelly however has a lot to sing about seeing as how his “Love Letter” album debuted at #6 with sales of just over 150,000.
Other interesting debuts include Tank, whose “Now Or Never” album debuted at #38 (41,000) and Diddy Dirty Money’s “Last Train To Paris” which debuted at #10 (86,000).
