Tyra Banks Returns to TV in ‘Funded’
Supermodel turned TV personality, Tyra Banks, is set to star in Funded, a new Shark Tank-style reality series that will feature entrepreneurs battling for a chance to get their business ideas funded. Tyra, along with Rohan Oza and Rob Dyrdek, will serve as mentors for eight contestants as they battle each other for a possible one-million dollar investment fund to get their start-ups off the ground.
Tyra, who recently launched her first cosmetics line to great success, said via Instagram she hopes to pass on to contestants all she has learned in her 20+ years as not only a celebrity, but as a business woman and a brand.
I have spent my life encouraging people to BYOB — Be Your Own Boss. Making everyday people’s dreams come true is what I live for. ‘Funded’ is the life-changing type of television power project that gets me pumped. We will enlighten and entertain audiences big time and encourage our viewers to attack their most outrageous goals with fierce determination. – Tyra Banks
Funded has been picked up by NBC and is set to air during mid-season.
Fans hoping to see Tyra return as host of America’s Top Model are unfortunately out of luck. If recent reports are to be believed, VH1 has tapped singer Rita Ora to host the show when it returns to air next year.
