Tika Sumpter Joins ‘Black Wall Street’ Cast
Actress Tika Sumpter is still in high demand. Despite CBS not picking up her ‘313’ pilot, The Haves and Have Nots star continues to rack up new roles left and right. In addition to her upcoming appearance in Old Man and the Gun, and two Tyler Perry films, Tika has also been cast to co-star in John Legend’s new series about the once thriving Tulsa, Oklahoma neighborhood known as Black Wall Street.
Tika will also executive produce the project alongside Legend and his Get Lifted Film Co. partners, Ty Stiklorious and Mike Jackson. Though still in the early pre-production stage, the show will reportedly air on WGN America, where the company’s Underground series aired for two seasons before it was canceled earlier this year.
Fans wondering how Tika will tackle all these new projects and her role on The Have and Have Nots need not worry. The show has already been renewed by OWN for a fifth season and Tika says she will be returning with the rest of the cast.
