Toni Braxton and Babyface Reunite

Singers Toni Braxton and Babyface reunited over the weekend to perform Toni’s 1996 hit single “How Could an Angel Break My Heart,” which appeared on Toni’s multi-platinum “Secrets” album and was written by Babyface.

Toni, who was the first artist to be signed to Babyface and L.A. Reid’s La’Face Records, and was a one-time protégée of the super producer before Toni eventually left the label, citing financial reasons.

Fast forward a decade and the two are back together again… at least on stage. Toni is set to release her “Heartstrings & Synagogue Vibes” album in May. Let’s hope Babyface adds a few tunes to project.

In the early nineties to mid-two thousands the duo were an unstoppable force, charting a string of pop and R&B hits, including “Breathe Again,” “Seven Whole Days,” “Love Shoulda Brought You Home” and many, many others.

  1. I remember it so so well, and really them to reunite again. I love them when they tack team! 🙂

  2. I love them together I remember we they sang give u my heart live on bet I was 12!

  3. Please write & produce her music again. They should go and lock them selves in a room and listen to her 1st cd over and over until they get that back

  4. i really wanted to go to this show in AC……….

i made myself a fool by presuming affordable tickets would be available by my next check FAIL!!!!

    only tickets left were $100+

im happy her shows are doing well but DAMMIT ALL TO HAIL…i missed out!

  5. Toni will deliver, but will her old and new fans buy?

Sade came back after a long hiatus and didn’t change a thing about her music and it sold. Granted, Sade has always maintained a certain amount of mystique and her own special brand of allure, Toni is also so special in what she does! It’s a matter of fan support and I hope we show up for Toni Braxton, she deserves it. When you can usually get a new cd for $10 bucks or less if you download, it doesn’t make sense for good black artists not to at least go gold for first week sales.

Please support Toni Braxton, Melanie Fiona, Estelle, Ruben Studdard (his best to date) and others who are giving us the music we deserve!

  6. Toni was telling the honest to god truth when she told her sister Tamar “You are @#$*&ing with a heavyweight”. Toni will forever be the greatest along with Whitney and Mariah. I remember having a date and after a few glasses wine we slow danced in my apartment to the SECRETS album.
