Toni Braxton Returning to Lifetime

Toni Braxton to Star in Lifetime Movie ‘Faith Under Fire’

Singer Toni Braxton is once again teaming up with the Lifetime channel. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Braxton Family Values star is set to executive-produce and star in their upcoming movie Faith Under Fire, the story of Antoinette Tuff and how she convinced a heavily armed gunman to give up after he stormed the Atlanta school where she worked as a bookkeeper.

Toni will be joined by Yaya DaCosta, who’ll play the emergency services operator (Kendra McCray) who relayed messages between Tuff and the police. Trevor Morgan will play the gunman and actor/director Vondie Curtis Hall will direct.

Toni, Yaya and Hall are no strangers to Lifetime, having all worked on projects with the network in the past. Toni starred in their 2013 film Twist of Faith, while Yaya took the lead in their Whitney Houston biopic Whitney. As for Hall, he has directed numerous films for the cable giant, including Toni’s biopic Unbreak My Heart.

  1. Lifetime pays the bills. It’s become the home of black female movies over the last couple of years. Quality is always iffy though.
