BMI to Honor Singer Toni Braxton
Singer Toni Braxton will receive this year’s BMI President’s Award when the BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards are handed out on September 1st. in Atlanta, Georgia. The invitation-only gala will honor Toni for her 25-years of musical excellence, which includes seven Grammy’s and over 50 million albums and singles sold worldwide.
“We are proud to bring the BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards to Atlanta for the first time to honor Toni Braxton,” BMI Vice President of Publisher Relations, Catherine Brewton, said via press release. “As one of the top-selling R&B artists of all time, combined with her philanthropic efforts, I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this recognition.”
Other notable BMI President’s Award winners include Pink, Pitbull, Will.I.Am, Ludacris, Adam Levine, and Latin sensation Gloria Trevi.
The 2016 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards will be held at the Woodruff Art Center’s Synphony Hall and will be hosted by BMI President and CEO, Mike O’Neill. The show will also be live streamed on BMI’s official website.
