Toni Braxton Announces New Album

Coming Soon: Toni Braxton’s Sex & Cigarettes

Singer Toni Braxton is prepping for the release of her upcoming ninth solo album, which she says is titled Sex & Cigarettes. During a recent interview with The Insider, the Braxton Family Values star said the project will be released at the beginning of the new year, and that it will be the first in her almost thirty-year career to be spicy enough to warrant a parental advisory sticker.

Speaking on her new single Deadwood and its sexy vibe, Toni had this to say to reporter Laura Spencer: “I feel like I’m older now and I wanna say what I feel. I don’t want to be censored.” Having turned 49 for two years in a row, Toni says she’s ready to let loose and free herself in ways she hadn’t been allowed to in the past. “Most of my music has been filtered over the years through various writers and producers. However, now that I’m taking a more active role in the crafting of the songs, I’m freer than ever to express myself in any way I see fit.”

Fans will get their first taste of a freer Toni when she performs her new music for the first time in Dubai next month. The Un-break My Heart singer will take the stage at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium on October 19th for a one-off show.

  1. Raise your hand if you want to hear Toni singing about sex with Birdman?

  2. Hopefully it’s not about “the bird” but all in all I’m incredibly excited for this project. Toni has ALWAYS been a sensual person and since her Secrets album and the “You’re Making Me High” days I’ve always felt she was already very “free” but I’m excited for any new Toni Braxton music. She’s my absolute favorite. I just hope this doesn’t go in he direction of her “More than a Woman” days where she tried to go extremely hip hop and it wasn’t true for her. I personally enjoyed “Hit the freeway” but a lot of longtime Toni fans consider MTAW her worst album. I hope this project isnt delayed much cause I already can’t wait to listen to and buy the album. #SexAndCigarettes#
