  1. Toni has made some great songs over the years and I am still on the cusp of being a fan.I watched her New Year’s Eve performance and it was horrible. She was stiff and mumbled or whispered her way through her set and it was such a disappointment.Hopefully this performance will be better.

  2. I LOOOOVE TONI. I THINK THINGS WENT DOWN HILL WHEN HER PRODUCERS DIDN’T WANT TO PROMOTE HER B/C SHE WAS PREGNANT. IT HAPPEND DURING THAT SONG (HIT THE FREE WAY) WHICH I THINK WAS A GOOD SONG. I WISH HER LUCK B/C I THINK SHE IS A GREAT ARTIST WITH A BEAUTIFUL VOICE. GOOD LUCK TONI 🙂

  3. Mary and Toni have been out about the same amount of time but I’ll tell you why Mary has continued to prosper while Toni who was once considered the bigger start has fallen.

Toni started off a great r and b artist but soon found crossover success and started to water her music down a bit.Songs like Spanish Guitar and a few others caused her to lose her r and b fan base and the pop fans weren’t true die hard fans so they soon dropped her too.

Mary on the other hand never left her true soul roots and thus her fans have stood by her through thick and thin and finally here she is at the very pinnacle of her career nearly 16 years after it started.

Moral of the story, don’t let your pop success make you forget where you came from and who put you there.

  4. Toni never had the same music as Mary. Mary had more soulful songs in general. Toni’s music was more mature, not insulting Mary at all, but its like comparing Ciara & Tamia. They both have a good fan base but Tamia does not make the same music as Ciara. Her’s is for more of a mature audience. I don’t think Toni lost sight of where she came from. I think she was trying new things to try and keep up with times.
