Tyler Perry’s New Show Will Be…

While visiting the Conan Show to promote his latest film “Madea’s Big Happy Family,” director Tyler Perry announced his new television project “For Better or Worse.” The show will be based on Perry’s blockbuster film “Why Did I Get Married?” and will reportedly be an hour long dramedy (comedy+drama).

The original film starred Jill Scott, Sharon Leal, Tasha Smith and Janet Jackson. None of the original cast (male or female) is expected to join the television series; however another name is already being floated around.

Actress Keesha Sharp, best known for her role as Monica on “Girlfriends, and who also had a small part in the original “Why Did I Get Married?,” is said to be on a short list of possible females to play one of the lead characters. Keesha can presently be seen co-starring in the TBS comedy “Are We There Yet,” which stars Essence Atkins and Terry Crews.

  1. Yes I like her as an actress. But once again I’m not really too hyped about any of the black shows that come out because they just seem sooooo fake and all the same. I wish her much success and congrats with it all though!

  2. Confession time: I got a girl crush on Keesha. Have since Girlfriends season one, way back when. LOVE HER!!! 🙂

  3. Happy Happy Joy Joy! She is one of my favorite actresses! From Girlfriends to Everybody Hates Chris to Are We There Yet? – I would LOVE to see her on TV weekly for an hour

  4. I LUV Are We There yet! A great family friendly show. It is a bit under-rated, but hopefully it will pick up more support. Gigi is my favorite character on AWTY. Hat’s off to Ice Cube for this show. Looking forward to seeing Ms. Sharp on TP’s dramedy…

  5. I like her a lot. But am I the only one who noticed that her hair always looks dry? LOL … Is it the extensions she wears or what?
