Tyra Expands Her Empire
Tyra Banks is expanding her empire. The model turned actress, turned singer, turned entrepreneur, turned talk show host, has signed an exclusive multi-year deal with Warner Bros. Television. The new deal will allow Tyra to continue to host her two hit show, America’s Next Top Model and The Tyra Banks Show, and also give her the opportunity to branch out into films. One of Tyra’s first projects will be a direct-to-DVD series with the adaptation of the best selling teen novel “Clique”. “I’ve been a mean girl and I’ve been teased, so I identify with both sides of it,” Banks said in a statement to Daily Variety. “This is very much my brand, especially as teenage girls are dedicated to watching both my shows.”
Banks will act as executive producer of the teen DVD series, which has been in the works since last summer. Banks could also be looking to expand her reality television repertoire and has said that she is looking to create shows “that attract my core audience” and in keeping with her current “fierce” attitude she hopes the shows remain “aspirational and empowering.”

Good for Tyra, she is about to move into Oprah territory. She is definitely making all the right moves.
I remember that video too. She shot it years ago, maybe 3 to 4 and the original did not have the girls from ANTM in it. Tyra can sing and dance her
off. Had she not been a model she would have been taken more seriously and that song could have possibly been played and become a hit.

I don’t know why they call her talk show a hit show. It has been moved to noon, i’m sure cause it couldn’t compete with the View and The price is right. Plus she always ends up making it about herself.
Of course it’s a good move to make more money so good for her I guess.

Tyra was wrong for going off on Ebony when she quit the show. Ty came across as a control freak and really didn’t need to insult the girl. That bit at the end was just passive aggressive BS. You know that Tyra is probably scrambling to get Ebony on her talk show now just so she can exploit the moment some more — especially since Tyra is getting so much negative feedback about the way she handled things in that episode. I don’t begrudge her success but she is not a good interviewer and she is completely self-absorbed.

Brigitte I don’t remember Tyra going off on Ebony. I know she was mad and said “The most unattractive thing in the world to me is a quitter — and for that — you can go.” But she didn’t yell and go off on her like she did Tiffany. Maybe you saw something I missed :confused:
I like Tyra but she is jugdemental and always mentions about herself whenever she’s interviewing someone else. I hope if Ebony goes on her show that Tyra won’t criticize her because atleast ebony did have the courage too admit that modeling wasn’t for her.

i would be hella mad if someone beg me to help them then quit like i have all the time in the world to sit here and give them advice . i love her show and the fact that she doesnt take herself too seriously and worship the simple thing in life i love women that can see beyond hollywood hype and remenber that real wealth is what you got inside of you and not what you got in your bank account

Tyra is on a roll. Lookout Oprah, theres a young buck on the rise. I really applaud her for her actions. Her focus is amazing, the fact that she has no kids, not married (right?) and has a plan to focus on career first is something that needs to be passed on to a lot of our young sistas. Many of them got the game twisted, they trying to have children and a husband with no career or cashflow. I hope that underlining message makes it through to the masses. Great Job Tyra!!
