Vanessa Simmons to Launch New Fashion Line
Vanessa Simmons is set to launch a new clothing line at next month’s Los Angeles Fashion Week. The Queen Boss judge gushed about her new venture while attending Thursday night’s Black Women in Hollywood Awards. According to Vanessa, she’ll be teaming up with Candice Cuoco, a former Project Runway finalist whose had previous collections shown at both London and Paris Fashion Weeks.
Vanessa is no stranger to the world of fashion, having teamed up with sister Angela to create their Pastry line of sneakers back in 2010. The sisters’ collaboration has reportedly earned them over fifty million dollars in sales worldwide.
Vanessa will no doubt bring that know-how to the table as she and Cuoco set out to create a collection based on their combined love of all this feminine, fun, and flirty. “We both love leather and lace,” Vanessa recently told WWD. The key is combining those elements to create something that’s both soft and sexy. I think we’ve done that beautifully and I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”
Los Angeles Fashion Week will kick off March 12th and run through the 15th. Other notable designers expected to show off collections include Talia Leilani, Nicki Wright, Cynthia Rowley and many others.
