Vanessa Williams is back with a new album. The “Ugly Betty” star will release her first solo album in over four years on June 2nd. “The Real Thing” will be Vanessa’s 13th album (her first for Concord Records) and features two original Babyface written & produced tracks; “Breathless” and “Just Friends”. Vanessa recently shot a video for “Just Friends”, which you can view here. Promo shots from the singer/actress have also been released and those you can view on the next page.

I can’t wait I get her album, Maxwell, and Whitney Houston’s all in the same years. I am telling yall the music world is changing it is going back to just some plain old good music. Because this new artisist does not have that longevitiy factor. I can’t wait. EnVogue’s going on tour this is just great. Now if Johnny Gill and Keith Washington would just start making music again that would be really great.

I love Vanessa and breathless and just friends is great. I like breathless a lot. I will definitely buy her album. I have always admired her for her longevity and being so family oriented. I know she will do good with her new album. She is absolutely breathtaking and She does give the youngsters a run for their money. You can feel that she has been through alot because like many of the older singers, her vibe is so smooth and relaxed. Her singing is not forced. You don’t get the feel that she is trying to just sell records, she really puts herself in it. I wish her all the greatest blessings that are in store for her.
She is beautiful but honestly, the look and style that she has is already here, someone needs to bring something new, I couldn’t make it in the industry without whoppin sum serious *** :( I need a savior right about now someone that is going to break the stereotypes :thumbsup: NOW when maxwell and whitney drop?! Can’t wait. Miss Williams is a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice. Even though her vocals aren’t on Whitney’s levels her ora takes me there. Just take your time and stay true Vanessa. Even if it isn’t a big seller you could get a few hits and maybe even a grammy.
Luv me some Vanessa W. So proud that she took the high road after her Miss America debacle. She probably has made more success than any of the women to win a crown of any kind. She has gotten the last laugh for sure.

Just watched both new videos. Very simple. Songs are sophistcated. She is not even trying to compete with the youngins. Hopefully those smooth jazz/ RnB stations will put her new stuff in rotation.
I like the song but the video is a bit blah. Still Vanessa is beautiful, sounds great and I will support the album.

She could’ve easily dominated the porn industry for a year or so, or had many playboy covers. But she took the classy road to stardom. Just look how washed up Pam Anderson and Tracy Bingham looks, Nesse definately made the right choice.
I always liked Vanessa Williams. What a totally gorgeous woman with a lovely singing voice and acting talent. I don’t care what they did to her after the pagent, to me she will always be the first Black Miss America, and nobody can take that away. She was the first black woman to win that crown.
