Vesta’s Cause of Death Revealed

Singer Vesta Williams, who was found dead in her hotel room on September 22, 2011, apparently died from complications of an enlarged heart. This, according to Norwood Young, a close and personal friend of the Williams family.

The autopsy results were released to the family earlier this week, effectively refuting rumors that the singer died from a drug overdose or possible complications from having been overweight for many years.

The news comes on the heels of TV One kicking off their new season of Unsung with an episode dedicated to the singer. You can tune in to see the special on January 2, 2012 and will feature interviews with Young, Vivica Fox and Vesta herself. The singer’s was actually in the midst of taping her episode of Unsung when she passed away.

  1. I believe on of the possible reason you can get an enlarged heart is from being overweight. Even when u loose the weight your heart does not shrink back to its normal size. So perhaps her past weight issue did play a part. RIP Vesta

  2. so sad, is looking forward to hearing and seeing her story on TV1. Thanks for the info Tanya, i went and looked up the information you mentioned about the heart very informative.

  3. I watched Unsung/Vesta and really enjoyed the episode. Its was kinda sad because Vesta had such a great personality and kept me laughing so much that I forgot the show would end with her untimely death. She died 5 days after the taping.
