VH1 Tributes Donna and Whitney

"VH1 Divas" 2012 - Show

Not a single diva can deny Whitney Houston and Donna Summer’s lasting impact on today’s music scene, and last night VH1, with help of some of today’s biggest voices, sought to pay tribute to both legends.

Singers Jordin Sparks, Melanie Fiona and Ledisi teamed up to perform a medley of Whitney’s greatest dance tracks, including ‘I’m Every Woman,’ ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody,’ ‘It’s Not Right, But It’s Okay,’ and ‘How Will I Know.’

Next up we have Kelly Rowland, Keri Hilson and Adam Lambert, who tributed the great Donna Summer, performing her classics ‘Bad Girls,’ ‘She Works Hard for the Money,’ ‘Hot Stuff’ and ‘Last Dance.’

  1. The Whitney tribute was great. Great singers, great voices.

The Donna tribute was a sad mess. None of them sounded that great and the remix of Donna’s songs were terrible.

Donna was an amazing singer with a stellar catalogue. How come no one can give this woman a proper tribute?

  2. These diva shows haven’t been the same in years. Not many divas around these days. I will say that I think Beyonce would make a great diva. So would Rihanna. A redefining of this generation’s divas is needed. Things aren’t so much about singing as it is the whole package.

  3. Ciara did the dam thang nobody can dance like her not now and never this girl is the truth!

  4. Donna deserved a better tribute. So much in her catalog and her voice was underrated. Eh.

  5. SAD! B please start doing these tributes! RiRI please start puching ROC to let you do them as well. The rest garbage!!!!!!

Should have gotten Christina, or Kelly. Those white girls would have put them to shame!!!!
