Vivica Fox Opens Up
Vivica Fox sat down to talk candidly with Upscale magazine about her long standing friendships with other famous Black actresses, as well as her former relationship with bad boy rapper 50 Cent, and of course her plastic surgery mishaps.Viviva openly admits to feeling the pressure to be young and beautiful in Hollywood, but adds she would not change a thing even if she could. You can read the entire interview on the next page and check out some rare promo shots I added to the gallery from Vivica’s now cancelled Lifetime series, The Missing.

ON HER FAMOUS GIRLFRIENDS
“Isn’t it wonderful that you see sisters sticking together? A lot of times when women reach a certain status, they don’t have girlfriends on their same level. These are girls that I’ve been friends with for almost 20 years—Tisha, Star. We’ve been with each other through the good, bad and the ugly. The highs and the lows, the rollercoaster rides of success in the entertainment industry. The fact that we’ve made it through all that is the true testament of sisterhood.â€
ON STAR’S FIRING FROM THE VIEW
“It seems like they only let a black woman get so much and then they become extremely threatened by your power instead of lifting you up. It’s like, ‘OK, that’s enough, you served your purpose.’ One thing they forget is that Star is a very smart, strong woman who had a successful career before all of this stardom, which is so fleeting anyway. She has a wonderful foundation. Star has a brain and a career that they’ll never be able to take away from her.â€
ON HER PLASTIC SURGERY
“It doesn’t affect me what people say. I’m in the entertainment business and people like to see you look good. If there are steps I have to take to look good, I’m going to do it. I don’t hold it against anyone else, but if people want to hold it against me and create their own stories, so be it. If they were in my shoes and they had to do what they had to do to look good, then they would understand my journey. When I look in the mirror I still see Vivica and that’s all that matters to me. If I still look the same that I did 20 years ago then something must be working.â€
ON HER FITNESS ROUTINE
“I do Tae-Bo but for me, it’s mainly my diet because I love food. I really stay away from the pizza, pastas and bread—I treat myself to it once a week. But I work out and I make sure I drink a ton of water.â€
ON HER HOLIDAY SPECIALTIES
“I make a mean macaroni dish that my mama passed on to me. My little secret is that I love to add cream of mushroom soup and lots of cheddar cheese. And I can make greens. I add smoked turkey and mushrooms too, for some reason; and some onions.â€

Vivica suffers from the same distorted self image as so many women in Hollywood. She thought she was unattractive and needed enhancing when in actuality she was fine.
I wonder does Vivica see what the rest of the world sees now? I wonder does she know that had her surgery actually been a success people would not be talking about it because it would not be noticeable?
Let’s hope her self esteem has picked up so that she won’t be making anymore trips to the surgeon’s office?

I’m still a Vivica fan plastic surgery and all.She is an excellent actress and is making strides behind the camera as well.I love that she is close with other sistas in the business because it sends a great message of unity. We all make mistakes and do things we regret but those of us who are really smart learn from them and then move on.I think Vivica is such a person.

does she mean 20 years ago or 20 years from now…
because from that jawline, pumped up lips, and rock hard boobage…*shivers*
don’t get a brotha wrong, I like her as an actress but going through that plastic surgery was a step-back for her and other sistaz in hollywood.

I agree Zillz,
It puzzels me why beautiful black women feel the need to have plastic surgery they end up looking worse afterwards. Lil Kim looks a pure fool and she was sooo pretty before there was absoulutely nothing wrong with her face in the first place.
However Vivica looks good.

In my opinion, the only think Vivica fox may have needed was Botox…if that. I don’t think all of those other things were necessary. Maybe she hit mid-life crisis after 50 cent. I really don’t care to hear about that relationship any more:roll:

I’ve always like her, since way back in the day with that sitcom she had. As far as the cosmetic surgery goes, to each his own, but I’d be remiss in not admitting that it makes me look at her a little differently. I hear that it’s addictive and I think she should’ve stopped with just the nose job or whatever ’small’ thing she had done first. Still, she’s a great actress and I still like her.

[...] I know what I said about Vivica concerning her plastic surgery and all. But I see Vivica as a very good actress who can play any roll. I just see Coco playing in my fantasies. Besides, I can bring a Vivica home to meet moms. Coco would have to sit in the car with a wig on. Moms ain’t havin’ that. [...]
