Weekend Happenings…
Not much of anything went down over the weekend as everyone was off for the holidays enjoying time with their families. However, before they ran off to the relatives many Brown Sistas continued to do what they do -entertain. Rihanna continued on with her concert, Beyonce supported her man and Missy Elliott and a few others showed their support by showing up for the Angie Martinez Hair & Beauty Expo that I told you guys about a few weeks ago. The expo was suppose to be hosted by Queen Latifah and Meagan Good, Keyshia Cole, Eve and a few others were suppose to be in attendance.
However none of the ladies mentioned above showed up or if they did pics of them have not been made available to the public as is the case with Missy, Lil Mama and Misa Hilton who were spotted on the red carpet.

Wow, Rihanna is Rockin’ that stage outfit. Looks similar to something Ayu (Ayumi Hamasaki…I doubt anyone here really knows her) wore during her tour. Looks like they caught her early without make-up and a little tired, but she still looks decent and good for her, she still looks her age to me. There’s a regular girl under there!

I saw pics on Getty and this event looked straight wack. No hair or fashion pics at all, just people sitting up on the podium in the worst lighting I have ever seen. i haven’t even seen pics from the performances they said they were having. I wonder what really happened there and if this event maybe wasn’t quite what they said it would be. I figure we will hear more about this as the day progresses.

Whatever. I disagree. I can name of artists that are great entertainers and work hard. Chris, Ciara, Mary J, Usher, Alicia Keys…the list goes on as far as great live performers. Just because their not in the spotlight all the time doesn’t mean they don’t work for theirs. There is nothing wrong with taking a break from the limelight and wanting to have time for yourself.

I agree with what you are saying. In our culture we dont need to hear over and over how bootilicious you are. Keeping it real she would be stupid to take a break just to satisfy people who dont even like her; that would be like taking money out of her family’s bank account. From what I’ve heard in interviews, she doesnt plan on working after a certain age. In a time where rappers are making hundreds of thousand of dollars (janet is the only black woman to be in that league) why not milk it for as much as she can? Beyonce is not even that rich. As far as stage performance she has everyone beat. At awards shows everyone talks about her performance and bash her when it is subpar because they expect more from her. To me she has MJB and A Keys beat on stage presence; her voice is always on point unlike the others (the things she can do with her voice is crazy). However I would rather she did more soul rnb music instead of this pop bullshit. Her music is more here today gone tomorrow. As for MJB and A Keys they are always in my CD player because their music is timeless :wink:

Rihanna’s legs are just sick. She looks busted with no makeup, looking like she just woke up but she’s such a pretty young lady and her concert S&M outfit is sick. Lil’ Mama always looks ‘older’ than she is. Misa’s boots are cute.

I saw the Beyonce Experience the other night and yes we all know that she is a good performer. But so is Janet Jackson, Stephanie Mills, Patti Labelle, Mary J. Blige, Usher, R. Kelly, the list goes on and on. Everybody treats Beyonce like she is the best and only performer out here and that nobody is better than her. It is because she has over saturated the market with her presence. And no, I am not hating, because I have mad respect for her because she knows what she has to do to meet her accomplishments. People seem to forget the fact that Jennifer was only hot for a few years, while Bee has been hot now for a good decade.
