It’s that time of year. What are your Vday plans? What types of things do you want on that day from your significant other? Now, dream big…what’s the ultimate Vday wish/date/plan for you, start to finish?

Well my husband and I have been buying furniture and are still recovering from the Christmas/Birthday season. My B’day is in December, his is in January so we are just going out to a nice restaurant and we will not trade gifts this year. We will buy something that we can (*eh-hem*) both enjoy and call it a night

It looks like there will be no Valentine’s Day for me this year; the same last year and the past four years before that. My boyfriend of three months, who declared his unfettered love for me just a few weeks ago, now ponders if we are “compatible”. Oh really,were we not compatible when I took your kids to the hospital in the wee hours of the morning? Were we mismatched when you needed me to spot you a dime on frequent occassions? Maybe it’s that I am not one of those “hood rich” sisters, waltzing around exuberantly ’cause I’m on Section 8 for another day, spending all my money on Baby Poop and Roc-caca-wear, and pushing my illiterate and barely verbalchildren off to my chain smoking mama whenever I want to “go to da club”. Is that what you miss????

i’m single. i’m cool. i won’t buy anything for myself. i won’t get any candy…..i don’t really like it anyway……i’ll just move on like it’s just another day. i haven’t cared about valentines day since who knows when. i have bigger fish to fry…..i see good things coming up for me in my near future so i’m just patiently waiting.
but to be really honest. i feel a little way knowing i have no one to call and say happy valentine’s day to. no gifts and such. maybe a memorable photo and things. i’m not down with the chocolates….mostly because i’ve never had it before and don’t want to try it, and candy and teddy bears but hey i’ll accept. Now the hilarious part is that he doesn’t flash it so a lot of people who know us don’t even notice its in his mouth. My mother is a minister. We were visiting and my younger brother was comparing tatoos with my husband. Lil Bro said (way too loudly) to my husband, “I was thinking about getting a tongue ring too! Did it hurt? How long have you had it?”
Which got my mother’s attention–so we are all sitting there holding our heads when she starts asking “why on earth would you put an earring in your tongue?”

He says that the tongue ring didn’t hurt at all–but it was awkward for a while and he had to learn to speak again and he had to work at not biting it and not swallowing it because it feels much bigger than it is. He says the tatoos do hurt–but I think that he is saying that because I keep threatening to get one.
We don’t party outside the house though. He was a partyer when he was younger. I think
I just don’t have it in me. I don’t “get” it. Too cerebral and I analyze everything. So I would be sitting at the party watching everyone and asking questions.
As for my one vice–I just like sex. I’m glad I married someone who does also. That is probably going to be my one vice when I’m older–never hit a party but a closet full of sex toys…

My best V-Day gift would be my husband coming home from Iraq. He has been gone since Oct 07 and will not return until Jan 09. I hope my son who was almost a year old still remembers his father because he was very very attached to him before he left. That is the only gift I would really enjoy. My husband and I never really got in that holiday much cause we always try to be romantic. V-Day is more so for you guys who only get it on once a year! (smile)
