What’s Kimberly Jones Up To Now?
Rapper Lil Kim recently did a photo shoot with famed photographer and video director David Lachapelle. In a newly released photo from that shoot Kim is shown holding a baby with a painted face, while surrounded by naked men, cocaine, needles, and all that while supposedly dressed as the Virgin Mary. No one knows yet what this photo will be used for, but what we do know is that like most of Lil Kim’s photo shoots- people will be talking about them for years to come. Personally, it takes a lot to offend me and Kim’s photo sure doesn’t past the test. Photography is like art and each artist expresses themselves differently. Plus David Lachapelle is known for taking photos that create controversy and thus up his value in Hollywood. He and Lil Kim have done this before and will surely do do it again in the future.

The quality looks quite ‘amaterish’ to be Lachapelle, but I’m not offended. I’m sure he had some meaning he wanted to get across (a few running through my head as usual) but he can definitely do better. I cannot believe people are really that offended by the pics. I have seen far more scandalous pics of Kim in the past. The whole Virgin Mary comparisons (and when was the last time any woman had a baby without having sex) has people tripping. If anything she looks like she wearing a big Mexican hat to me. No one here has even seen this Virgin Mary so how can we be offended by a supposed depiction of her?

I am not offended byt this pic simply because the bible says things like this will happen, but I am more so worried about kim’s blasphemy - to take such a precious thing and turn it into this..? I hope she asks for forgivness. It doesn’t matter what point she was trying to make, there are certain places that you just don’t go! Dana, I agree that nobody has ever seen the Virgin Mary. But that doesn’t mean that such a person never existed. Because I’m in a hurry at this moment, I will forgo a theological and historical discourse proving that there was an actual Virgin Mary. However, let me say simply this: even though a pianting, or a statue, for that matter, might not be an accurate depiction of the person in question, it is still a representation of that person. I’m sure that there are others who will agree with me when I say that if one degrades that that image, then the person it depicts has been degrades as well. Now, with that in mind, Lil Kim has insulted the Virgin Mary and all that she represents. Here’s how she has done that: by putting an auraaround herself, she has said that she is something divine and supernatural. That’s her sick idea of a joke! By putting that child on her kneee, she has said that she can bring purity and innocence to the world. Another sick joke. She can’t do anything for anybody, least of all herself. Hell, she can’t even keep herself out of trouble.
Let me now turn my attention to this one final point, then I’ve got some things to take care of; my wife gave me a honey-do list for today.
In intrducing this topic, the writer of the above article said that “Photography is like art…” I agree. However, there comes a point when “art” becomes a mess, filthy, obscene, pornographic, dirty and nasty. These descriptions appropiately fit what Lil Kim has done. Now before I get some numb skull asking me to define “pornographic”, “obscene”, ect., let me say this… there is no one, true definition of “pornographic”, “obscene”, etc. But I will say this… I know “pornographic”, “obscene”, etc. when I see it.

This is an interesting piece.
The Superman symbol on the guy’s arm is the same as what’s stamped on the child’s face. The one Superman is down, dead, dying and there’s another at her feet, lost to cocaine, needles and the rubber tarp on the bottom of the van’s floor. Lil’ Kim is holding the child, the child who seems to be an infant Superman, perhaps to take the fallen’s place?
And then they’re in a van…
What’s the significance of a van…and the wires and equipment in the back? Is that photographic equipment? And what, if any, does Kim’s fake boobies have to do with this? What does it all mean? LOL.
And as for the ‘offended’ argument. I have seen FAR WORSE photography/art than this. It’s definitely an interesting piece, vivid, bright, typical of LaChapelle. And those naked buttocks aren’t too hard on the eyes either

I am all for free speech, and I am exercising my free speech when I say this picture is troublesome to me. I agree with the other postings that Lil Kim is doing this for attention`(and she will makes news off of this picture). She is trying to rebuild her career but when its over, its over.
