Whitney Houston Sighting
Singer Whitney Houston was spotted in midtown Manhattan today having lunch with Clive Davis at the Nobu 57 Restaurant. As many of you already know, Clive was the wind beneath Whitney’s wings at the beginning of her career and is now personally overseeing her comeback CD, which is rumored to be released sometime in the new year. So far Akon and Ne-yo have been brought on board to help Whitney regain the pop stardom she once had, but I would rather see Diane Warren, David Foster or Babyface writing and producing for her next project. Diane, David and Bayface all gave Whitney some of the biggest hits of her career and are true songwriters and producers, not just beat makers.
But I’m sure Clive Davis knows what he’s doing and unlike Broccoli Spears, he will see to it that Whitney’s return to the spotlight will truly be a momentous one.

Whitney’s image has taken a beating over the last ten years and so she can never again reclaim the classy and elegant image she once had. People now know that was to some degree an act and those really wholesome people who dug her back in the day no longer do. I can’t imagine Whitney really has many fans left. She will have to come back really hard with a monster hit that showcases her vocal ability, if she still has any left. Whitney is not hip and cool and trying to hook up up with hip hop artists will be a mistake. Just let Whitney sing and leave the coolness and dancing to the no singing acts like Rihanna.

I actually think Whitney can make a good comeback.I mean she probably won’t be selling 10mil copies but who is these days. Most people are rooting for her. Of course her fans were disapointed but then again most felt that getting with Bobby would bring her down. I’m not saying her downward spiral is his fault but that is how her hardcore fans feel. I agree though as far as who she should work with. She needs to stick with what worked before I mean maybe one or two songs from these “new” guys but not the whole CD. I think she can learn that from Janet Jackson. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Then again the last really successful album she had was MLIYL (which i loved) it had production from wyclef, missy, dark child, lauryn hill, and like one or two from Face.

.Great news I can not wait for her comeback. I am going to buy her album the first day. I have been a long time fan of Whitney and I too agree please don’t let people like Neyo write her entire album. Not saying that he’s not good or anything but she needs a variety. I hope she makes a big come back and put the music industry on lock the way she had it from 1985 to 1993. I have all of her cds from the past and I currently jam to them to this day. That clip above of “Didn’t we almost have it all”, was also on her greatest hits video tape. I have that also and she did an awesome job singing that song. That’s one of my favorite videos on that tape. That was an excellent choice of video Stephanie.

I don’t like when old school stars try to get a new school sound. Some artists need to realize they’ll sell more records if they stick to regular R&B or Adult Contemporary style. That’s why Toni Braxton fell off. If she stuck to those love ballets everyone liked she’d still be selling records. I think Whitney should just stick to her style.

Best of luck to Whitney. I am an eighties child and I was disappointed when she “changed”. I was also upset that she wasn’t at Oprah’s legends ball. I still felt she should have been invited no matter what because she is truly a legend.

Whitney Houston doesn’t have to make another record because she already has a place in music history. She had one the best voices of all time and her music is what is called timeless classics. That can never be taken away from her.
These new artist have songs that only have good hooks but the lyrics have no substance and will just fade away in due time.

She is the voice. That voice has never left her. Even in her worst days there was that voice. Drugs does not make you loose your voice. I do agree though, please don’t try and come out with a hip hop album.

Why does everyone keep saying where is the old Whitney. We all go through things in life and the trick is to learn from it and come back a better person. So maybe we don’t need to see the old Whitney because that is what led her down that path in the first place. Maybe we will see a better Whitney Houston.
I hope she does not try and put out and album like the crapt that is out today. Her voice I think is to strong for these new producers and they will try and tone her down because they don’t know how to work with people on that caliber. She probable she work with someone like John Legend, Alicia Keys, or Kem because they are the best things going right now.
