  1. I for one am interested to see how Whitney’s brand weathers the recession. No doubt she’s a legend, but she and her team have their work cut out for them. It’s gonna take a hell of a lot of marketing and good buzz to get me to spend my money on Whitney and not think it’ll go towards the financing of a certain *sniff* habit. I’m just sayin..

  2. Then don’t buy the album. She has millions of people sweetie and I mean millions of people waiting for her cd to come out. So trust me it will be bought. I for one always like to hear a happy ending. And I am glad that she is not letting people determine what her future wil be.

  3. Bee, thanks for being such a positive force. It’s Whitney, plenty of people are waiting on this album 2 drop (have been for years) PERIOD. Baron, please :stop: bringing up the negatives in people’s past 🙂

  4. I am all happy for the comeback. It is not easy to climb back and not only gain your self respect, but get back to the top of the career you choose in life. I am pulling for her. I know her music will be great because she has been to the bottom and now is on her way back up.

  5. @bee and Holly: I’ve got nothing against Whitney, but “stop with the negative?” We all know that celebrity blogs are no fun without an opposing viewpoint. How boring would blogs be if every commenter was on the same wavelength? I for one relish the opportunity to disagree with others.

  6. Whitney, Sade, Maxwell. Sounds like this is a good year for resurrecting careers. More power to them.

  7. This is a gift from God for those who may be weak in areas of faith and belief in him and and their own personal power…There is no reason for anyone to criticize her effort..if anything as brown sistahs we COULD all smile with our hearts and embrace this beautiful woman. :brownsista: …just look at her!! I dont even have to hear the c.d. ..its already a success…its LOVE and thats all Whitney has to give is LOVE! regardless if you want to receive it or not…LOVE YA WHIT…..dj kimya

  8. @Baron: I did not tell you to stop anything. I actually told you don’t buy her cd. I simply said that a lot of people are waiting for this cd and you have a right not to buy it. You can comment all you want and be as negative or as destructive as you want to be it’s your right as an American citizen. And you are right that is what these blogs are for and my opinion is that you seem to have some negative vibes maybe I’m wrong but that is the vibe I get from your comment. You could have said I wish her well even though I won’t be buying the cd. I am sure yourself included we have all been in points in our lives where we were not our best self, but, unfortunatley for her she had to live hers out in public. If you can look at yourself in the mirror and say I have never done anything that I wish I could take back then more power to you, but, if you can’t then just wish a person well when they are trying to get back on their feet and well wishes will come back to you.

  9. I been waiting for some new music from Whitney Houston and I cant wait to buy the new album.

  10. i’ll be waiting….hope she does a duet with Jennifer Hudson that wud be something….Puff Johnson must do a comeback too

  11. WOOOOHHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is one of the greatest news of this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY GIRL IS BACK!!!!!! I missed you sooooooooo much miss Houston!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. You have heard the rest now its time for the BEST!!
    Go Whitney!!!

  13. I’m pulling for old Nippy. I just hope the press doesn’t do what they did last time I dog the record just for sport. Her last album wasn’t THAT bad … but you would have thought the child was belching on record the way they dogged it. I’m gonna buy this the day it comes out.

  14. i’m glad all the old school REAL talented singers are coming back cuz clearly everyone in this day and age sounds the same and boring. true talent is only compared to their own selves. these folks that are out presently work too hard to be a singer/dancer/actress/fashionista/business owner/clothes designer. basically they have too many slashes and need to focus on 1 or 2 talents and not spread themselves so thin that the original fame (music) wears thin.

  15. I’ll be waiting and i’ll buy my copy, I love Whitney Houston and she deserve my money,I like people that go trough stuff and emerge stronger, im not giving any money to those pageant queens whom only bad experiences in life were at the beauty shop! I went trough hell and i need to relate to you if you want some does from me!

  16. She’s back. Finally. I can’t wait for her album and especially TONI BRAXTON’S new album which drops this year also.

  17. I can’t wait for her to come back too. What I hope is that people are not expecting 1989-1998 Whitney because we aren’t getting that. We will never get that again. But…there is still a lot of talent there(The Grammys were actually pretty good except she didn’t have the same vocal stamina which makes sense since she hadn’t sang in a while) so I anticipate she is going to surprise people and do a great job. I don’t know about #s because no one is selling CDs anymore but as long as she puts out quality music, and she’s doing what she enjoys then I support her.

  18. I’m just soooo excited!! that’s all i gotta say! :brownsista: :brownsista: :brownsista: :brownsista: Whitney’s a true legend, Diva  and, this year will be a great year, it’s a true blessing fromGod to have her and have her back!

  19. of course she is LEGEND, ICON AND ALL THAT and i agree i use to LOVE whitney but i just dont see myself being able to get back into her again, as always i will give her a chance i just dont know if it will work…

with that being said I AM WAITING FOR THE COMEBACK blow me out whitney i have faith in you and i DO want you to do well…surprise me girl!

  20. Long awaited indeed …. last female R&B album I bought was A. Keys last album (pre-homewreckin’ lol) so yeah I might 2 of this new Whitney album she better do it after not having an album in 7 yrs.

  21. When God gives someone a talent like that they can’t even give it away. I don’t know why everyone is acting like because she was once on drugs that means all of a sudden she can’t sing. There are tons of people in the church choir and just in everyday life who were once victims of the demonic spirit of drugs and recovered and now are just singing their buts off. So stop acting like oh she was on drugs she has lost her gift because it’s just not so. If anything she will be better because she will appreciate that gift even more. In the last few year when someone heard her sing she was still probably getting high and she still sounded in her worst better than the majority of these singers at there best. So she is and still does have the voice keep it real. Now you young people can see what a song stylist does and she will do it all while keeping her clothes on and not standing on a pole. She did crazy things because she was high and out of her mind what is the excuse of these young singers looking like hookers fully sober. That is a better question.

  22. Go ahead Nippy with your bad self the true Queen  is on her way back. I am definately going to buy that album the first day it comes out. As a matter of fact I hope that she goes diamond  I am willing to bet she is still exceedingly better than all the present so called good artists that want to be legends. My girl and Jennifer Hudson need to get together and make a duet. Now that will be some sure enough real singing and gimmick free talent.

  23. *Looks at bee in a say what now kinda way* lol um come on now when Ms. Whit start hitting the booger sugar a lil’ hard now when she would sing maaannn she would sound a little off…enough for people to really notice. But oh you are definitely right even at her worst she sounded way better than some singers now at their best. After this new album and futue ones after a yr 7 basic recovery and her upcoming return I think she’s going do it like she never met Bobby lol.

  24. Whitney had such a beautiful voice at one time, then it looked as if she could hardly get the words out. I just hope that her voice has come back to at least some of its former beauty.

  25. well it’s been a long road for her “exploration of purpose” and like most of us when enough is enough we get back on track to the things that give us the most fullfillment in life. She needs not to reget or feels sorry, she just needs to do what she does best….sing and keep on singing… I will buy the album if for no other reason than to suport a sista thats come a long way and getting back on track…you go girl, and “LET YOUR HATERS BE YOUR MOTOVATORS!!!
