Thank You Real Housewives Of Atlanta’s Ne-Ne Leakes

I want to take this time out to thank a special person to all of us. She came into our lives a season or so ago and every since then she has been representing for all the loud ass ignorant Black women out there. This thanks goes to … Nene Leakes from Real Housewives Of Atlanta. Thank you Ne-Ne for recently assisting in prolonging the stereotype that Black women are loud, aggressive, combative individuals. Thank you for helping to further create the illusion that we are also unable to have a disagreement with someone without resorting to childish name calling, yelling, and other bafoonery. Thank you for refusing to be the bigger person and not responding to Michael Lohan’s a**hole comments, thereby missing the golden opportunity of making him look more like the fool than you. Which could have been easily accomplished by you just smiling and allowing dribble to run out of his mouth. My mother wants to say a special thank you for helping to spread the image of pending coonery and porch monkey antics so far and wide that every Asian in nail shops across America are automatically defensive towards Black women before we are even in the door (ofcourse they will still take our money but I digress). Also, thank you for adding the special touch of waiting to perform your very special breed of foolery on The Insider, a program that airs on TV’s around the U.S. Thank you for allowing a little bit of your beauty and ladylike qualities to be taken away with your antics. Thank you NeNe Leakes, for assisting in keeping the stereotype of the angry Black woman alive and well.

Reality TV vs Real World Issues

This is quite distressing to say, but the holy grail of American life is FAME! In all its superficial glory, there’s something inherently wrong with our present culture when seemingly intelligent people are prepared to do insane and desperate acts to garner this vacuous honor; and the ones who already have it will do anything to retain it, including becoming attention starved media whores. I’m talking about being a celebrity. And they don’t have to pay for it in sweat to attain it. When did unscripted reality shows replace quality prime-time programming? And I must admit, albeit sick of the many talk shows and game shows that once glutted TV, when did reality shows replaced them?

You have publicists, athletes and rappers becoming actors…and actors becoming governors—there won’t be any room left for the real professionals. Our nation is in disarray from corporate corruption; the U.S. is at war with (pick a nation!!!), unemployment spiked post 9/11 and hasn’t fully recovered, especially with the latest recession, our schools are in shambles. We’re raising future morons due to the mis-education of our children; we have pedophile priests running around loose and abusing children unchecked and with impunity, quality of life and gratuitous crime has increased, HIV and AIDS continue to rise, mainly in the Black community, especially among Black women… and yet, reality shows is ruling television . I can go on, but you get what I am saying here.

People are tuning in each week to see who gets voted off, booted out, or fired on: The Apprentice, American Idol, Real Housewives of Atlanta, The Voice and Who Wants To Marry A Millionaire, to name a few. And the unlucky ones who are unceremoniously asked to leave, are resurrected to appear on other reality shows, TV shows, movies and commercials—anything to prolong their 15 minutes. Desperate for recognition and ugly grabs for power, these greedy, shallow and insecure former contestants will shamelessly promote themselves at any and ALL costs to remain in front of the camera, and we buy into it. Are we so starved for entertainment that we accept any dreck the networks churn out for ratings? Are we all in dire need of mindless distractions and other D-list celebrity nonsense, because we cannot bear to think about what is really going on in the real world? Well, behaving like an ostrich won’t make it go away. And just as Nero played the violin while Rome burned, we watch MTV, while America quickly becomes a third world nation, with uneducated children who cannot read, write or execute simple mathematic problems; and meanwhile, we have North Korea (potentially more dangerous than the mess in the middle east) reprocessing enough plutonium to make additional half-dozen long range nuclear weapons, to cook half the world, yet we are instead inundated with reality shows.

We as Americans need to re-focus and re-commit ourselves; we need to put our energies where it’s needed most—towards our atrophied future, our children, our family, our country, and our values, before we as a nation further deteriorate and fade from reality. Because although tentative for the present, the dissolution of the Unites States is not so far-fetched… look at what happened to Russia. It’s time to wake up… and watch out for China also!!!!

ATL Housewives Revealed

Bravo has just unveiled the new cast for season five of their reality show “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Changes for the upcoming season include the addition of two new cast members, actress and former Miss USA Kenya Moore and Porsha Stewart, granddaughter of Civil Rights leader Rev. Hosea Williams and wife of former NFL player Kordell Stewart.

Kim Zolciak has finally landed her a rich man in footballer Kroy Bierman so her role will reportedly be phased out, unlike Sheree Whitfield who Bravo chose to humiliate and fire.

With Kim gone, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” will have an all-Black cast, as it was originally meant to be before Nene Leakes recommended Kim.

Season five is set to kick off Sunday, November 4th at 9pm EST.

Possible New Atlanta Housewife?

VictoriaRowell I don’t know how true this, but Brown Sista and former star of The Young and the Restless Victoria Rowell may be joining the cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. It turns out she now resides in Atlanta with her artist hubby Radcliffe Bailey so it would make sense for her to be up for a role on the show. I miss Victoria in daytime, but if Dru does not return to the canvas I’m sure a lot of her fans will follow her to Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise. And even though RHOA is already a huge hit, with the addition of Victoria the popularity of the show should skyrocket even more.

DeShawn Snow No Longer a ‘Real’ Housewife

DeShawn Snow Some say that DeShawn Snow was the quiet in the storm of drama that rained on Bravo’s dramality series “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” In reality television, playing it safe doesn’t lure viewers or make the grade; when it comes to ratings, only diva antics, tension and catfights will do. As the remaining ladies—Lisa Wu Hartwell, NeNe Leakes, Sheree Whitfield and Kim Kolciak—gear up for the second installment, Snow learned on Monday that she would not be returning to the cast. Snow spoke candidly with about the call that hurt her, why Bravo won’t be able to replace her, and how she plans to keep it moving.

RHOA Super Trailer

Have you guys seen the just released super trailer for the upcoming sixth season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta? If you haven’t, prepare yourselves for the drama. It appears the show has reached a new low and has officially moved into Bad Girls Club territory.

Just as I predicted, with her acting career taking a hit with the cancellation of The New Normal, Nene Leakes is back with a vengeance and looking to reassert her authority as top dog. She is seen in the clip arguing with everyone from Porsha Stewart to Kenya Moore and appears to be the catalyst that leads to a huge fight that involves both her female and male cast mates.

When asked about the clip via Facebook, Nene of course said she could not talk about the upcoming season, but did admit to being disappointed with “certain decisions that were made in the heat of the moment.”

RHOA Returns On November 3rd

Bravo’s hit reality series “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” is officially scheduled to return to the airwaves on Sunday, November 3rd.

The network released a teaser for season six and as expected, there appears to be drama abound for each cast member.

Phaedra Parks, who gave birth to baby number two over the summer, resists putting her career on hold to handle her duties as wife and mother.

Porsha Stewart tries to rebuild her life after unceremoniously being served with divorce papers by her husband Kordell back in May.

Cynthia Bailey will tackle health issues this season, as well as a teen daughter who starts to show her independence.

Kandi Buruss will be planning her wedding to longtime beau Todd Tucker, who appears to be on the outs with Kandi’s mom.

Kenya Moore will do battle with her “crazy” landlord who tries to have ger evicted for non-payment of rent- a claim Kenya denies.

Finally, after wedding her husband Gregg for the second time, Nene Leakes settles back into life in Atlanta after a year of living in Hollywood. Not to be outdone by Kenya’s antics however, expect Nene to exert her dominance by causing as much drama as she can.
