Fox Orders New Drama Starring Angela Bassett
Angela Bassett is coming to Fox. According to published reports, the American Horror Story actress will be teaming up with the show’s producers, Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, for a new series titled 911. The as yet unannounced show will reportedly be unveiled at the network’s Upfront event next week and debut as a mid-season replacement in early 2018.
Angela Bassett Joins Master of None for Season Two
Netflix’s Emmy-winning comedy Master Of None, which stars Asif Ansari (Dev) as a struggling New York actor, will get an extra dose of black girl magic when it returns for its sophomore season early next year. According to published reports, American Horror Story actress Angela Bassett will join the cast, playing the “cool hip mom” of Denise (Lena Waithe), Dez’s cooler-than-thou lesbian confidante.
Angela Bassett to Launch Skin Care Line for Black Women
Angela Bassett is set to launch her first skincare line next month. The American Horror Story actress recently teamed up with her longtime doctor, Barbara Sturm, to create a skin care line especially tailored to women with darker skin.
The ever youthful Angela Bassett is covering the March edition of Essence magazine. The 52 year old actress will be honored at this month’s Black Women in Hollywood Awards Gala alongside Viola Davis, Jennifer Hudson and Loretta Devine. You’ll also be able to catch Angela in three movies set to be released this year- “This Means War,” “Green Lantern” and “Jumping the Broom.”
I guess when you’re as talented as Angela, age ain’t nothin’ but a number and the work will just keep rolling in.
Actress Angela Bassett was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame today. Angela first came to prominence back in 1992 when she portrayed singer Tina Turner in her biopoic, “What’s Love Got To Do With It”, a film that also brought Angela her first Academy Award nomination. Since then Angela has appeared in more than 20 films and can presently be seen starring as Brenda, in Tyler Perry’s new film, “Meet The Browns”.
As hard as it is to believe, Angela Bassett, one of the most gifted Black actresses of our time, hasn’t had a starring role in any film since she last appeared in the Rosa Parks Story, a television movie, back in 2002. And though she had a role in last year’s Akeelah and the Bee, it was in the supporting capacity and in no way showcased her amazing abilities as an actress. Angela’s dry spell is about to end however as Tyler Perry has wisely cast her in the lead role of his next film, Meet The Browns.
In January, Angela Bassett and her husband Courtney B.
