Teairra Mari Preps New Music

No one can accuse Teairra Mari of not being tenacious. The 24-year old one time Princess of the ROC has just released a mini documentary, “Then & Now,” and is getting set to release her Unfinished Business mixtape on July 4th.

Teairra also plans to release new music this Friday, and assures fans that her “Sex on the Radio” CD is still in the works.

A lot of people clown Teairra for not throwing in the towel after being dropped by Dej Jam and having several other deals fall through. I, on the other hand, applaud her.

Teairra does have a voice and can sing. Her missing element has always been production. Without the right songs, an artist doesn’t stand a chance of having a successful career.

Luckily for Teairra, writer/producer Rico Love showed up on the scene. Teairra calls him her own personal Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, likening the chemistry they have in the studio to that Jimmy and Terry had with singer Janet Jackson.

Check out her short documentary below. She discusses her falling out with Def Jam, as well as why she kept at it, despite the constant setbacks and label changes.

Video: U Did Dat by Teairra Mari

Teairra Mari is back with the visuals for “U Did That,” the singer’s first single under the guidance of Rico Love and his Division I imprint.

I really wish I could say something nice about this song and the video, but I can’t. Neither is very good in my opinion. Teairra has sexed up her image tremendously, mostly because the songs she has been releasing as of late lack any type of punch.

Despite the controversy it caused, “Sponsor” was a better song and had a better video. “U Did Dat” has bad visuals and looks cheap. All of Teairra’s writhing around also looks desperate.

Teairra can sing. We know that. What she needs now is the support of a label that wants to showcase her vocal abilities, rather than her sexual abilities.

Teairra Mari Shoots New Video

Singer Teairra Mari is at it again. The 24-year old former “Princess of the ROC,” is set to release a new album this year and has just shot the video for its lead-off single “You Did That.”

Teairra posted images from the video set earlier this week, adding that the finished product should be ready for unveiling later this month.

The “Love & Hip-Hop” star recently signed to Rico Love’s “Division 1” label and is expected to release her long delayed sophomore album sometime later this year.

Teairra Mari Wants to Lock Down Rico Love

If you watched Teairra Mari on last week’s episode of “Love & Hip-Hop,” then you know the 24-year old singer was none too happy when she saw her producer Rico Love at a showcase for fellow struggling R & B singer Olivia.

According to Teairra, she and Rico have a chemistry together that she says she has never had with any other producer, hence her desire to keep the hitmaker all to herself.

“It’s absolutely amazing the chemistry that Rico and I share. I couldn’t ask for a better partner in crime,” explained Teairra. There are a lot of talented songwriters out there, but for me, my chemistry is with Rico and I haven’t had chemistry like this with anybody else. Everybody has their match and I think Rico is definitely my musical match.”

Teairra recently signed to Rico’s Division 1 label and released the buzz single “U Did Dat.”

The singer’s sophomore album is slated to be released sometime this year, and according to Teairra, Rico plans to make it a very sexy affair. “The direction has gotta be sexy,” she said. “I’m a woman comfortable in my shoes and I like to be in love, and when I’m in love, I like to have sex, lots and lots of it.”

Teairra Mari Unveils New Music

Just days after making her debut on the second season of “Love & Hip-Hop,” singer Teairra Mari has unveiled “U Did Dat,” the grammatically incorrect first single from her serially delayed sophomore album.

Teairra recently signed to producer Rico Love’s Division One label and is set to release the follow-up to her self titled 2005 debut sometime in 2012.

According to Love, signing Teairra was a no brainer. “I believe in her. She’s a superstar,” Rico told Rap-Up.com. “If somebody is a star and they have that ‘it’ thing that cannot be taught, all you have to do is put a record with it. I believe that she’s gonna have a successful career. I believe that she has that potential.”

Give Teairra’s new single a listen and let us know if you agree.
